A different way to see

Hard to spot.
A new way to look.

Move the slider to explore how heat contrast can make an animal stand out in a low-light scene.

Looking for warmth, not just movement.

Thermal imaging detects heat differences. In the right conditions, an animal’s warmth can stand out against cooler surroundings, giving a search team another way to look.

An aerial view can help assess open ground and visible gaps in vegetation, including after dark.

A tool to support the search, not a guarantee of recovery.

Heat contrast depends on the animal being visible to the camera. It does not reveal animals behind trees, roofs, or walls.

A few helpful answers

A place to start.

Have another question?
Can you travel outside Northern California?

Yes, farther travel can be discussed if you’re willing to cover the agreed costs. Share the last known location with HQ so the team can confirm availability, search suitability, travel arrangements, and the full cost before anything is arranged.

Can a drone find my pet after dark?

Thermal imaging can reveal heat differences without visible light. It can support a nighttime search when conditions and permissions allow, but it cannot guarantee that an animal will be visible or found.

Can thermal imaging see through trees or buildings?

No. It detects heat from surfaces in view. Dense tree cover, roofs, walls, and other solid obstructions can conceal an animal. Open areas and gaps in cover may offer better visibility.

What information should I have ready?

A recent photo, your pet’s size and appearance, the time and location of the last confirmed sighting, recent sightings, and your contact number. Let HQ know about access restrictions or anything that may affect a search.

How soon can a search start, and what does it cost?

Contact HQ to discuss availability, suitability, timing, and any costs for your situation. Preparing an email does not schedule a flight. A search is arranged only after you speak with HQ and confirm the details.

Should I keep checking shelters?

Yes. Keep checking local shelters and lost-pet listings, share a clear photo, and make sure your microchip contact information is current. The local resources above can help you organize those steps.
